Default Buying a Used Nextel Blackberry 7100i

Please Login to Remove!

I purchased a used Nextel Blackberry 7100i from ebay and when I went to activate it Spring asked for and ESN or DEC#. There is no # like this under the battery where I was told to look. I was also told without that # I could not activate my phone. I had the IMEI#. Also, when I checked to see if my phone was locked or unlocked it says "unknown" under all the categories. Any suggestions here?

Go to Options > Status and scroll down to find your IMEI and PIN. Locked/unlocked won't matter on a Nextel phone because you can only use it on Nextel. No one else will activate a CDMA device on their network unless they sold it to you. If you bought a Nextel phone, I assume you're going to use it on Nextel, no?

With Nextel devices, you need a Nextel SIM to activate it. Go to a sprint store and see what they can do for you.

If you want a Sprint device in that formfactor get a Sprint branded 7130E.
