Choose the 7290 or 7100g. Click on the link for the Release Notes.

I don't want to go under the assumption that 4.0.2.49 is the same across the board, so where would one find the release notes for the 7100 in the other brands (like T-Mo)?

I checked the two download locations on T-Mo's site for release notes, and I can't find any on RIM's site.

TMO doesn't publish their release notes to the public, although if you have an account rep, you could probably request it from him/her. The assumption that its the same across the board for OS-specific and not network-specific is the correct assumption to make. For instance, if there was a bug in the Address Book, it would be fixed across the board and included in release notes for all carrier versions of the same level. If there was a network issue where a certain Cingular tower in Boise, Idaho would drop BlackBerry 7100 and 7290 handhelds randomly, and if the issue was addressed for Cingular, then it'd be included in the release notes for Cingular only. There are probably a lot of these quarks out there.

TMO's release notes are the best I've seen, as it covers previous internal versions of the OS as well. Their release notes are internal only, though.

Do you work in Boise?

Far from it. I was just trying to think of a random city in the United States thats not used all that often (I've used this example a few times with other cities, such as Oakland and something else out in the midwest).

I have a 7100G and I upgraded yesterday. Everything seemed to go smoothly, except it didn't come back from reboot during install (it was hung at Waiting for Connection after it removed programs etc. and rebooted the device). I pulled the battery out and reconnected it and everything completed okay.
It paired with my Audi A6, but after a 20-30 seconds I got a fake incoming call from an unknown caller. I thought it was a fluke, but this morning on the way to work it happened 10 times or so. The antenna signal signal strength is no longer showing up on the Audi display. On the plus side I can now make calls through the bluetooth car connection while the phone is in keylock mode (I complained about this a few months ago here, but the replies I got seemed to indicate that was normal behavior).
With these fake calls I'll have to go back to an earlier version, but before that I will try to reinstall the new version and see if it was a bad install.
I'm fairly new to RIM devices. Is there something I should be doing special when installing an update? On another thread I saw people saying something about deleting a 'Version.xml' file or something like that. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Deleting vendor.xml lets it load the newest firmware on your phone even if it did not come from your carrier, that's all. (Such as t-mobile firmware on a Cingular phone)

Hmm....as I said I'm new to the RIM world. How do I reinstall an upgrade?

I did figure out how to re-install an update. I downgraded, then upgraded again and I still have the fake incoming "Unknown Caller" calls and no signal strength indication on my Audi. I will be downgrading to the previous build. If anyone else has an Audi I would be interested to hear their results.

I'd call your cell company about the incoming call issue.

Interesting suggestion. It really felt like a bluetooth issue as it didn't happen until I was paired with the car. I don't think I was really getting a call, I think the phone was sending bluetooth packets to the car that made the car think it was receiving a call.

I just recently upgraded to the latest OS. I use the 7100g with Cingular Wireless. Here are some bugs that "I" have noticed:

1. In calendar, I use the "agenda" view most of the time. Let's say I have an appointment for Friday, October 7th. If I open that appointment and change it to, let's say, Saturday, October 8th, well.....the next day, which in this case would be Sunday is DUPLICATED!!! (What I mean by duplicated is that it doubles the day Sunday, October 9th, but NOT my appointments for that day) ....but, when I exit the calendar and go back into it, it's back to normal. KEEP IT MIND....this only happens when I change the date for an appointment that's already entered in my calendar. If I just enter in a BRAND NEW appointment, nothing unusual happens.....anyone else experience this?? I spoke with our internal blackberry support (i work for cingular headquarters), and they told me to simply, back up all my data, and then just use desktop manager and wipe out "JUST" my calendar. Well, I did that, and in the beginning it did not happen, but now I'm starting to notice again. Any clue?

2. Prior to updating, I can easily open up my SIM PHONE BOOK entries and once the list pops up, I can just pick one and press the "GREEN" send key and it dials that contact. BUT NOW, that doesn't work anymore!!! You have to actually click on the scroll key, and hightlight call " ", and THEN it'll make the call. Weird or am I just tripping?

......that's it for now.....if you find anything else.....please let me know. Thanks.
