Default App Removal?

Is there any way to remove an application from the handheld itself?

On my 7100t, procedure is tools > settings > applications, then select the applications and delete

Roll Tide.

Anyone have issues removing Yahoo Messenger, installed with no issue sometime ago but I really don't use it that much. If I go into options --> application to try and delete it's not listed and if I try removing via the desktop manager again it's not listed either?
