Question discomfort from radio waves/radiation/static?

Please Login to Remove!

I got my 7100t a few days ago, and I'm loving it. The only problem is that it gets physically uncomfortable to keep in my hand or pocket for too long, and I'm not exactly sure why. It feels like some sort of radiation, but I'm assuming it's radio waves... even though the thing apparently emits less than my old Nokia 6010

A friend of mine said he had heard of people complaining of high amounts of static during use, some even claiming to have been shocked by their Blackberries.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm the type that would much rather have a phone in my pocket than in a holster, so any advice would be great.

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, is there any way to turn off the blinking status light? It's a handy feature, but it'd be nice if it was optional.

Sometimes my hip twitches when my blackberry isn't there, so I think my BB is vibrating, but it is just my leg. The crackberry addiction begins!

Wait a second...I know you...your the same guy who said cell phones disrupt navigation in airplanes and also said they will cause your car to explode while filling up at the gas station right??? Didn't you also say they will cause brain cancer if used too much??

There could be another reason it bothers you while in your hand or pocket...your hand and "pocket" are sore from too much yanky wanky...get a girlfriend.

cute.

No, I've never been one to worry about such things. I just wanted to hear if anyone else had experienced this, or heard or similar stories... I'm going to go exchange it today. I have the ol' leg twitch from my previous cell phones, and this is nothing like it.

Afterall, there's no setting like vibrate, eh MozMan?

Thanks.

No, not a single problem, errrr, ehm, unless you count that flourecent lime greenish afterglow on my hip after I go to bed and all the lights are off. But the upside to that is that I do not need my night light anymore, so all in all I think I am a bit ahead, and I know the limping will go away in time, probably about the same time that the nose bleeds stop too.

That's the frequency of Nextel phones....not the radiation. I used to have the i1000+. The entire Nextel line at that time had pretty much the lowest radiation emitting phones in the business. The i1000 was on the top 25 list of lowest radiation phones in the business (I think it was lower than a 1.0). Anyway, you can check all this stuff on CNET before you buy a phone...if you actually care. Seeing as everything we do causes cancer, I dont think it matters much.

My BB doesnt cause cancer, but it does have curious addiction properties. And it is SO cute!
