Default Wish there was a 7105t discount

I've been hearing that the 7105t corrects many of the problems of the 7100t issues. Any chance they would offer a discount to current 7100t owners? Anyone else wish they would or am I just barking up the wrong tmobile tower?

Me too but I don't hear of that too much. But I sometimes hear of companies offering a discount to people displeased with a certain product. Depending of the price, I would probably take advantage of it.

you can get a discount if you extend your contract. log in to My TMobile and somewhere near the bottom of the screen you'll see a link for Upgrade Phone. Click through that and you can see the discounts they are offering. It's not much, but does bring the phone in for something under 199.

RIM making the 7105 is almost admitting the 7100 is flawed. I agree, there should be some kind of upgrade program to current 7100 owners.

I don't know. To me, it is sort of like buying the first model year of a car. Some bugs get worked out in next year's model.

everything is flawed... thats why you keep buying new things to replace things you already have?

Lambs to the slaughter. I will bet within a week we will be hearing the horror stories. For once let the other guy be the guinea pig, didn't you learn the lesson the first time around? So now you traded up to a whole new set of problems, even the 8700 is a new device, let some people take it for a test drive, I can guarantee it wont go away. But plopping 125, or 179 or 199 to just have a new and improved version of the problems you now have is counter productive. They will fix it and in 6 months then you can buy. Besides the hoopla will have died down and the price will have come down more can you ask for?

As long as the screen's viewable outside, I've got C-level folks here at work chomping to "rebuy" it.

I'm on my 4th replaced 7100t with Tmobile and asked if there was in discount offer to be upgraded to a phone that actually works... I got a big fat NO. 4th phone in less than a year... can't wait to get rid of it. The data part seems to work well but I have a lot of issues dialing out.

I've also had 4+ 7100t Blackberrys in a year or so. I've called before and begged for them to swap out my 7100 for a different Blackberry model or a Nokia 6600 but they wouldn't go for it. Right now I've actually been problem free for the past 3 months, so I have no reason to call them and complain more. I understand they can't give the 7105 away for free, but they should offer a bigger discount to current users of the 7100 than they do to new customers.

my major problems are: Tmobile coverage is bad in the area I live in, dropped calls, always out of network for no real reason, miss a lot of phone calls because my phone simply doesn't ring at times, etc.

not sure what issues you are having, but if its not related to seeing the handheld in direct sunlight or being able to push the call/end buttons and typing on more contoured keys, then the 7105 won't do you much good. it fixed the cosmetic downfalls of the 7100. it did not fix anything with bluetooth or the microphone, to my knowledge.

I recently called to get a price on a 7290, and while they were not willing to budge much on it's price, they were willing to sell me a 7105t for $99.

When I called, I made it clear that I was looking for "better options" than what I currently had. They may have thought I was looking to drop their service.

Of course, I was not under contract at the time, and they were eager to have me sign an extension. Put me in a much better position.
