^^Strange, I turned my old one off, and turned the new one back on and was set in about 10 minutes total....fastest Nextel upgrade ever I think!!!

If a master reset is all you need: Options-->Security Options-->General Settings-->click on anything and select Master Radio Reset. Password is "00000" (five zero's)....

Arrow

We just got one here too..

The screen is awesome

The direct connect button is ont he left side where it should be, not on the top like my 7520..

I ahve not been able to activate it either, bus as soon as i do, i will be testing the timeout on the DC. It's horrible on the 7520, way to short..

The sure type is not bad though. I typed a small paragraph and it got ever work correct without me having to do re-type anything.. Except the word shit.. it keeps suggesting shut.

Anyway, looks nice so far..

well i thought id give you guys a lil update...

the reason why i cant activate my phone is because there is a huge data transmission outage in all of souther california... theyve tried a master reset 5 times... they told me to wait a few more hours and call them back or else they think it might be a faulty sim card....

to be continued...

I'm as frustrated as you guys and I haven't even gotten my new 7100i yet!

I tried to go to my corporate Nextel store to get the 7100. They told me they couldn't help me and that I had to go to the retail store. No prob. I went there. They told me I had to go to my corporate contact back at the other store! When I explained to them that he sent me to them, they just rolled their eyes. Comforting. They said they could sell me the 7100i for $299 with a 2 year extension on my existing contract. I told them that I could get it through Nextel on-line for $199 with a 1 year extesion and they replied "yeah, umm....we can't do that." Even though they are a Nextel store. Go figure. They also told me that even if I bought the blackberry from them, that they wouldn't be able to activate it because "Nextel hasn't downloaded all of the sims to this location yet." Whatever that means!

So, I called the Telesales number for Nextel and they told me.......yeah, you guessed it.....that I had to go to my local retail store! Telesales is only selling new subscriptions and upgrades can't be done with them until November 1.

Man, I love Nextel! (please read with HEAVY sarcasm!)

I am trying desperately to spend my money, but can't get anyone to take it from me. Go figure!

I can't wait until I actually get the 7100i so I can advance to the next headaches of swapping that you guys are reporting!

Dawg, I got my 7100i this morning too. They didn't address the problem with being called via DC and it going back to the home screen quickly. Mine is running 4.1 too. 4.1 seems a bit buggy. When syncing it with my machine, it deleted several contacts from Outlook (added them back though). I'm running Desktop Manager 4.1 as well. The phone has crashed a couple of times too. Other than that, the screen is amazing. Another issue is the speaker volume on the 7520 was too low, that issue is resolved with the 7100i, plus the speakerphone portion is extremely clear. You can tell that memory and processor were upgraded too, this phone is A LOT FASTER than the 7510 or the 7520. If you want to know anything else, please let me know.
