I just got a call from Karbon that their 7290's are in and mine is shipping out in next day or two. Can't beat it for $49. My one question is, since I'm switching from ATT to Cingular to get it, will I still have to pay cancellation fee with ATT now that they are the same company? Guess I wouldn't get the new subscriber price if that were the case, so maybe I can't have my cake and eat it too. . .

Their merger has not been completed - except on paper. I would think they are still co-existing as two separate companies in operations, infrastructure and billing...

I was told today that they just got the units today and were checking them into inventory. Shipping will start tomorrow.

I ordered mine last Friday I believe. They called today to confirm and indicated it it would ship out Thursday or Friday.

Generally Karbon is good but I preordered a 7100t from them and two weeks after it was out Karbon still wasn't shipping mine so I picked it up at a local store. They may not be the best place to get things first from. Of course with the rebates if you don't mind waiting then it's prob the best price you'll get.
