Angry Register for My T-Mobile DOWN FOR 2 Days!!

Please Login to Remove!

I am so irritated!

I received my 7105t 48 hours ago, and since then the link to register for a new My T-Mobile account has been down. That means I can't set up BWC, which means I cannot see how well things work for me. I have 9 more days to cancel my service, and I cannot get service. Not a good start T-Mobile!!

Anyone know another approach, or do I have to wait until they bring this application back up?

Thanks.

probably never, since the legacy BWC service no longer works for TMO (as of 3 wks ago). login to your my.t-mobile.com and set it up there. you could always just call t-mobile's support and likely get the same answer rather than showing your distaste for them, no?

Jibi -

I've had the phone for 48 hours, and have been on support with T-Mobile for 4 of them. I had to speak with 4 people before one could tell me that the server was even down. I'm not looking for the bwc.t-mobile.com specifically, I cannot use the t-mobile.com/bis or the my.t-mobile.com or the "setup Internet E-mail" from my handheld. They are all down.

Haven't I done enough legwork to be frustrated by now? It's frustration, incidentally, not distaste. They've all been friendly, just not helpful.

Thanks.

That's the problem we're having -- there's no way to login to my.t-mobile.com because we haven't registered.
The registration link is dead for ( some ?) new customers.

"Currently, this service is unavailable. Please try again later."

Similar issue when you try to do it from the phone.

I've called Customer Service [Support ?], and they know about the issue.
It's going to be fixed 'really soon now'...

There's a post at http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=751498 which gives me hope.
The final post was from a customer who activated service last Friday and is now able to register.
Hopefully, the server is up and is catching up in chronological order (I've been waiting since Sat.)

Rick

Same. And same.

It's been really soon for a couple of days though. They're making me nervous.

Well, I'm sorta happy that it's working for you.

On the other hand, I still can't register. :sniff: :sniff:
I think I'll call them again tonight...

I am have been dealing with this messa since they did the upgrade since Oct. 2nd so I now have to propose how much money they will credit my 500 user accounts. GRRRRRRRR this is a royal mess as others have read my other posts about it. Tmobile has great customer care but after this mess my thoughts of that have gone down tremendously. I can not log into do anything nor can anyone do it from customer care.

jfinn,

i played with the 7105 @ digital life here in nyc last weekend.

I opened the browser and loaded engadget.com and it loaded very quickly. MUCH faster then the 7100 series.

However, due to the noise, rawkus and bad breath surrounding me (leaning over my shoulder) i forgot to try running some speed tests.

Could you run some speed tests on dslreports.com/mspeed ?

I am curious to see the speed - i know there are no hardware changes...but the page loaded quick enough that it stood out to me and a few people i was with.

Also if you could comment on battery life - i am wondering if the adjustments really make an impact to battery life.

one last thing - i have to admit the new color scheme in person makes the device that much more desirable (my opinion of course...wasn't a huge fan of the teal green tint.)

Many thanks,
dolo

I'm at day 7 without working email on my 7105t.

I love the phone so far, SureType is starting to learn a personal dictionary and gets faster every day, the screen is great, etc. The 7105t was intended as an interim thing until the 8700 is available from T-Mobile... If things don't get better soon, I may have to use the 14-day "Buyer's Remorse" option and keep my antique phone (Nokia 5165 / Cingular) for a while longer.

Spent three hours today in the store with the manager, a wonderful sales woman (who'll be a great nurse in another year), and a variety of phone support people at T-Mo. Escalated the problem all the way to RIM's Blackberry support line hoping that they could at least forward one or two email accounts to the unit while I wait for the computer issue to be resolved. RIM can't find my phone in their system because T-Mo hasn't notified them it was activated yet.

Like always, everyone involved was very polite, but essentially powerless to fix anything. I'm starting to lose hope now.

I am having the same problem you are having. I just got my BB Friday and I am trying to figure out a way to get it done. As soon as I find out I will let you know. I think from your computer you can go to Myt-mobile and set it up that is what I am trying to do now.

I tried it from my 7105t, then I went straight to the site from my pc and I am now activated. Make sure when you go to Myt-mobile that when it shows what kind of phone you have in the top right hand corner, it is the correct phone. That seems to be the reason I could not register. As soon as I changed it to the BB it registered without a problem.

Make sure your profile shows the correct model, as 'thegiftedone' suggests.
I purchased a 7105t friday morning, and was able to register and setup BIS email one hour later, from home.

Then what am I doing wrong? I go to

https://wipcore.t-mobile.com/tmo/register.jsp

and enter my new phone number 4072321185, hit submit and get the message

"Currently, this service is unavailable. Please try again later."

I haven't even reached the point where I could specify a phone type...

I think that's enough info for anyone else to duplicate the issue. You can even call me up for a nice chat and to verify that I own that number. I'll know it works if I suddenly get a message on my phone.

Note to self: When this works, come back here and remove my phone number...

I just got off the phone. Another day, another trouble ticket, but this one sounds much more positive.

There seems to be an automatic response when they hear the word BlackBerry to transfer your call to the BB tech support org. This is a dead-end path, since the BB tech support dept isn't aware of the issue. They can't see the problem and can't fix the problem.

So, try not to say BlackBerry very loudly. Keep repeating the phrases "My T-Mobile" and "Can't register". Say this over and over again. It's a known issue (well, uh, obviously, since I'm a customer and I know about it) and there appears to be a workaround NOW.

You want to be transferred to 'Provisioning', where they can try to manually force (push) an update to an internal database. In my case, the initial support person couldn't do it, and 'advanced technical support' couldn't do it, so my account is in the queue for 'database engineering'.

No ETA, but they promised me a callback. Today's total call time was slightly less less than one hour.

What page loaded next? I get the https://wipcore page next, then enter a phone number, etc.
