I just got my 7100t today and the bottom two rows of keys don't work! I can't dial any numbers that I could come up with because I need the 7890 keys to dial anyone in my area codes . Maybe I can find someone I know in another area code but no one comes to mind .

I went into notepad and I can type all the letters possible except those that use the bottom two rows of keys. That also means I cannot hit enter nor can I delete.

Anyone seen/heard of this before? I suppose that means I am going to have a PITA time over the next few days trying to take it back. They haven't even seen one before at the store though they have signs and displays plastered everywhere.

I am having the same issue with my top row of keys. This is a fairly new phone with no previous issues.

When I issue a hard reset, the phone displays a message saying there is a "unique" keypad and giving me an option to run a tutorial. The thing is, I never attached a unique keypad to the 7100g!

Thoughts/ideas? Thanks...

Here is the message that comes up when I reset the device...

"...try typing with your device's unique keyboard and assisted typing features"

Contact your service provider, it may be a software issue with the phone that they can assist you with.

I would wipe out the BlackBerry - use JL_CMDER which can be found on these forums - and then reload the latest version of the 7100 OS. Not sure what the carrier can do.
