Default Blackberry 7280 as pager - audible SMS repeat notification?

Please Login to Remove!

I am using my blackberry 7280 as a pager. Is there a way to enable an audible repeat notification instead of just the LED flashing? This seems like an obvious feature but isn't on my menu?

My old skytel pager would beep every minute or two if you missed a page. I want the blackberry to be able to do that.

Thoughts??

I had heard that maybe some custom code on the blackberry could do this? If I can't configure the blackberry out-of-the-box, is there 3rd party software I can download or buy to do this?

I have also been looking for a program like this for my blackberry but can not find anything of use. I was using a program called SMS reminder on my Nokia 3650 before I got the blackberry which worked quite well. Hopefully sombody will develop a program like this for the blackberry in the future.

Default Repeat Notification Needed here too...

We have a need for this as well. Our chief complaint from former "skytel" users, is the lack of a repeat notification (beyond 3 alerts, and the flashing LED.) for critical alerts such as Level1 emails and SMS pages. I think if the carriers are going to offer SMS Enterprise paging services, this would be a no-brainer. I am actively seeking this add-in, have both our RIM contacts and carrier looking for this. I'll be happy to post something if I find it!

If I remember correctly, there is a nag feature in the "WebMessenger Alerts" product, to repeat a reminder several times.

Granted, this is a 3rd party product...

Post Has anyone found a good solution for audible repeat notification?

We're on version 4.0 of the handheld client, and were hoping that audible repeat notification would be enabled, but no dice. Has anyone come up with a good third party option? I took a quick look at WebMessanger, but it didn't jump out at me.

We are really needing a program like this at our company. We are trying to use the BlackBerry as a cost neutral option for users turning in their cell phones and pagers, but repeat notification is something they are really complaining about.

As mentioned by Mark Rejhon MessageAlert could do the job. You can find the product here: http://www.webmessenger.com/download...are=blackberry.

Okay, I installed Message Alerts 1.0 and it's pretty nifty, but I haven't really found much as far as instructions. It seems to have lots of settings, but nothing really explains what they all do as far as I can find (like what is snoose, how should import tunes be used, etc). I could play with all of these settings and probably figure them out, but geez, I'd at least like some kind of manual so I don't have to write my own.

I agree, I am trying to get the filters figured out. What are the rules? What is the format?

I figured out the help, you have to use the help in each menu.

I noticed there were help options for various screens, but they are still fairly limited.
