Default Is this a good deal for yhe 7290?

I am pretty happy with my 7230 but am able to get a 7290 for $110 including a Bluetooth Mtorola Headset for activating a new line. Now I have heard that the 7290 will be replaced soon but nevertheless, is this a good deal on the 7290? This is from a T-Mobile store.

it is a great deal if it is from T-mo.. if it is from Cingular i will still not take it because T-Mo will be able to unlock you phone after 3 months and Cingular will never do it..
This is quad-band phone so the unlocked one will always work arounf the world. so grab it.

Just curious if you are wanting to keep your current ph# or don't care if you get a new ph#.

With the new line, you would not be able to keep your current ph#.
I know that may seem obvious but I was just talking to a co-worker the other day and they did not realize that when they had seen a similar good deal that called for a "new line of service". They assumed they could still get their current # ported over.

of course you can not bring the current t-mo number to this plan but you can bring a number from another provider like Cingular or Nextel and they will be fine with that.. I know it is too much hassel sometime because you still pay 35$ for the new line activation and one time setup crap.
so it is easly 70-80 $ just to get it going ;

Actually this is a number I ported to Tmo which used to be my office number so this is a new service. Also I am not required to get the data plan with this service. I already got the phone and swapped my 7230 sim into the 7290 and changed the PIN online and got the 7290 working without any hickups. I thought I'd ask here about the deal since I have 30 days to return it. Looks like the 7230 will be relegated to doing strictly phone service from now on.
