The User Manual states:

"In handheld Options click SMS. Set the Delivery Reports field to On"

There is no Delivery Reports Field!!!!

Any ideas on how to enable this?

I am a TMO user with a 7100t that I have a love/hate relationship with. I think the hate part mostly stems from TMO.

right in options --> sms, second one.

Ok, I'm in the message list, I click the wheel, I go to options. The only thing here is general options.

Ok so I go to Tools------>Settings----->SMS. Nothing there either.

Am I missing something? Can you please tell me how you navigated to this option.

Also are you using TMO/7100t?

Yes same device...
From the home screen, not message list go to your tools or settings icon. this is the place that has about, applications, auto on/off, autotext, etc. In there go down to SMS and it is the second option...

Crypto Kernel v3.8.0.18

That's the same version I'm using, yet I can change that option and you can't see it!

Just called TMO Customer service (ugh). After finally getting to a BB "Specialist" he confirmed that he has this option on his Handheld. He couldn't figure it out so he passed me over to RIM.

The guy at RIM did not have the option in his handheld and said that it wasn't something that RIM supported! He told me to call TMO and said that i was an issue for them, not RIM

This is a load of BS! I bought the handheld a week ago. I'll probably just return it and get another one that may or may not have this option.

Ask tmo to reprovision your phone then... see if that does something to get the option to show up... It's definitely something that lives on the sim so I would tend to agree its tmobile's side.

Well, I do have an old voicestream SIM. The handheld came with a new SIM. I'll try upgrading to that and I will report back.

Yup! It was the SIM card!

Yep, voice stream sim cards didn't support that feature. Glad to hear it working though!

It's strange because it worked on my Nokia 6100

maybe a conflict or something then.. who knows. glad it works.

yes the new SIM card does the trick, I am not sure why. The T-mob operaters didn't know that and said it was a feature they don't support.

I would say it's in the top 10 if you send and recieve a lot of TXT messages or if you rely on them from day to day. Especially since the BB unlike other phones adds a convience D by the check mark and doesn't send you back a actuall report that can be annoying.
