8820 Problem

Default 8820 Problem

Please Login to Remove!
I just received a 8820 from ebay. This is my first blackberry.

I put battery in and put on charger at first green light would flash. Now green light stays on consistantly. If I push the power button on top of unit the light goes off but the unit does not turn on.

I have tried pushing numerous buttons and can not get the unit to turn on.

I plug the phone into my computer and it downloads like it should work.

I have tried to reinstall the os (I think) but it just won't turn on.

Any ideas on if this phone is dead or just not charged enough??

Shouldn't it be able to turn on if plugged in to charger?

Please Help.

If it doesn't come on, send it back and get a refund.

Now he is saying he just thinks the battery is bad. But wouldn't the unit still turn on if that was the case if it was plugged in?

When on charger and I push the power button the green light in corner goes out but nothing happens. After a few minutes the green light comes back on.

When I first plugged phone in the green light blinked. Now it is a constant green.

Could it just be the battery????

It is possible that it could be a battery issue. If you have a friend that has a BlackBerry (not the Bold or Storm [i believe], they use a different size/type battery), then you can have them place their battery in your phone and see what happens.

I'm not too sure about the coming on if using only the charger, I've never tried that.

I went to batteries plus today and tried 2 different batteries and nothing. Phone is a DOA. Really upsetting considering the amount of money I paid for it.

Something tells me I am going to struggle to get a refund from this guy too.
