Default Latest OS: 8820 4.5.0.204/4.5.0.139

Please Login to Remove!

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.204
Contains English, from T-Mobile
This will load on any carrier's 8820 model

Package Version: 4.5.0.204
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.139
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.98
* File name: T_Mobile_BlackBerry_8820_v4.5.0.139.exe
* File size: 103.2MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download Link: http://downloads.infospace.com/T_Mob...v4.5.0.139.exe
Alternate Download Link: http://www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade/

***This link may require a T-Mobile customer phone number for access - I will keep looking for an alternate link and update if/when one is found.

Instructions for installing on ANY 8820 (regardless of carrier)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Prev. version of OS:

Red face Please Share...

I would certainly like to download this one to my 8820. However, I'm not a T-Mobile Customer. I am here in United Arab Emirates so I would not be able to use the T-Mobile download link.

Would somebody who have already downloaded kindly share this to Rapidshare or Mediafire? Would be greatly appreciated... Please...

I've read elsewhere that there's improved code for handling UMA calls - fewer drops/other issues.

I haven't messed with it enough to confirm that.

Default Works well for me

This has worked well for me... I was using the 4.5.0.124 or whatever that was the East Asian version and it wasn't playing nice with my battery. Having wi-fi enabled was running down the battery in just over 24 hours (and I needed it for UMA at home where the signal is weak.)

This version isn't killing my battery as badly - back to how the batter was working with 4.2.2.193, more or less.

Thanks T-mobile... now I just can't wait for the touch pro 2 release

I can't seem to get to download this update. I'm not a t-mobile subscriber. Is there an alternate link that will just allow me to just download this file???

I have it downloaded and installed after using a friend's T-Mobile phone number and willing to share but do not know how to use Rapidshare. Other options, for the 303M file?
