Default SMS alert icon wont go away

Please Login to Remove!

On my Sprint 8830, The little icon that tells me how many new SMS texts I have wont go away even after I deleted all of my SMS text messages. It still shows up as "11" with the little slanted envelope on the top of my home screen. Now when I get new SMS texts it just adds to the 11, in other words 12, 13 etc. And when I delete them all again it goes back to showing I have 11. How do I get rid of this? I tried resetting by removing battery a couple times, turned device off, etc. Still there.

Wirelessly posted

You might want to view your saved messages, as well as while you're viewing your messages, press alt+s to view only sms messages.

Hope that helps.

Does sound like they're saved. If you can't find them in the saved folder, try removing your battery for 30 seconds.
