Default Pictures on BB 7280 w/new 4.0?

Can someone explain in simple terms how to get the pictures to my BB 7280? I upgraded to 4.0 and there is a picture program on my BB but it does not say how to load the pictures.

Thanks

Go to a webpage in your browser that has the image you want to save and then you can save the image directly from the webpage. At this point there is no way (that I know of) to transfer an image file from your PC to the BlackBerry.

To get a image on your BB you can:
A) Visit the site with your BB and save the image.

or B) (this was posted before in an older link but was lost)
1. Find the image you want to upload.
2. resize it to H= 140+/- x W = 260 and save. I would recommend using another image viewer besides MS Paint or MS Photo Editor. They do an awful job at resizing. Try Irfanview or another 3rd party photo app.
3. Then go to http://www.comfx.com/g.php and upload your image resized image.

The site will spit you a url link back that you can email to your BB or manually type in the link.

There ya go. Hope this helps.

< Someone created a site where you could temporarily upload JPG images and then have the link sent to your handheld device.

Here's a link to the site: http://www.comfx.com/g.php . Not sure who created it, but the site is very handy.

If you're experimenting with standby screens, here's a 240x120 image that works well on my 7230:

I just noticed animated gifs work on 4.0. So I have a cool animated Gif for my timeout screen. the animation is only ran one then stops. So if you have a image that you like you simply can use GIF animation software and give it any kind of animation you like on load. e.g. right to left scroll in and the bounce.

Does anyone know what the maximum allowed image size is for Nextel?? I tried to download the above image and I get the following error:

WAP Session Abort 9: Response Too Large

I don't know if this part of the FAQ was restored but you have to have a browser to view the images.

The biggest I've been able to get through on Nextel is about 6kb. A real pain in the ass if you ask me when trying to load images or ringtones.

Yes, very much so. I wonder if the files could be saved if using an external browser like Reqwireless or similar.

Thanks Jesse, this worked great! I just used Photoshop to resize it, came out pretty good! A great big "thata Boy" to the dude who created that website.

Thanks Again....

Default The comfx.com site

I uploaded an image to the www.comfx.com site and it spit back a URL address which I typed into to the GO TO: menu after logging on to NOL (Nextel OnLine). The only thing I saw at the site I typed in was the HTML code and NOT the image I uploaded.

What, pray tell, am I doing wrong?

Default Viewing images on Nextel Blackberries

Ok, after doing some research and calling around, I have found out that images can ONLY be sent to and viewed on (Nextel) Blackberries if and only if they are sent via BES (a Blackberry Enterprise Server) to and viewed by your local Blackberry Browser icon. You can not use NOL (Nextel OnLine) icon to log on to the web for the purpose on viewing and/or downloading (jpeg) images.

Hang in there, though. They (and I wasn't told who "they" were) are working on a fix. Apparently by the end of the first quarter 2005, "something" will be available that will allow images to be transferred to Blackberries.

Default Sending/Displaying pictures on a Blackberry

I tried converting JPEG pictures to PNG format then sending them via email to my Nextel Blackberry 7520. It still won't display them.

Has anybody tried using Reqwireless EmailViewer on a 7520 to view emailed attached images?

From this same thread, "Jesse" already talked about animated GIF's.
