Default unlocking 7100t/7105t

I am a cingular user and am going to be without a work bb for a while - gasp! so i'm looking into buying one that will get me through the few months and I can give to my girlfriend to use as a phone/bb when I'm finished with it. I am currently using a 7280 and will be getting either a 7290 or 8700 in time, but since the phone speaker on the 7200 series leaves a bit to be desired I want to go with the smaller 7100 series. My problem is that I think the cingular 7100 is ugly and want the t-mobile version.

2 questions:

1 - what is the differene between the 7100t and the 7105t - worth the extra cost?

2 - how hard are these things to unlock? i have unlocked countless phones (nokia, motorola, samsung, etc) withuot a problem but are the bb's more difficult? would i be better served buying an already unlocked phone or taking the best deal I can get w/o a contract and having someone unlock it for me (or attempting to do it myself)?

thanks in advance...

1 - The 7105t has a different screen (it is much more readable outside) and a slightly modified keyboard. No other significant changes

2 - BBs are much more difficult to unlock than regular cell phones. T-Mobile will unlock the BB if you are a T-Mobile customer in good standing. Otherwise, you will need to contact Bongo Wireless and pay them $100 (and send the BB to them).

There are dozens of threads about unlocking BlackBerrys.
