Default 7100T Browser + APN Question

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone know if there is any way to configure the BB browser to route traffic through the APN configured for other TCP applications?

Basically what I'm trying to accomplish is viewing HTML pages on ports opther than 80 (notice I had another thread about this, but the question is very different).

Using a 3rd party browser I can connect to these ports with no problem using stardard URL syntax (ie http://www.domain.com:8080/ ), but the BB browser errors out.

The only 3rd party browser I've gotten around to using is opera mini, but honestly its not a very good solution. Its bulky, slow, and has odd controls on a BB.

If I can solve this problem and have the internal BB browser give me this ability, I'd be very happy. I wouldnt mind a 3rd party browser either, but I'd honestly rather not spend any money for this. Thanks.

Uhm... Thought I made this clear on the other post*.

The BB browser works with port 80... and thats pretty much it. You can't use 8080, 5000, or anything like that. Nor does the BB browser have any configuration settings that would allow you to do this and there isn't a way to configure the APN or anything like that to "force" the BB browser into using other ports.

You will need a 3rd party browser. Simple as that.

(Edit: *Other post @ 7100t + T-Mobile...anyone know how to access ports OTHER than 80?)
