Probably an IT Policy put in place by your company. Not a good idea to try to circumvent it either. Have you spoken to the BES Admin to see if it is allowed?
If you do get your personal email set up, keep in mind that it is best to assume that nothing is personal on a BES. Some things can be seen and others cannot, but it just safer to assume it all can be seen. IMHO, if you need personal email, SMS, voice, etc. it is best to get your own device.
