Default Shortcut to get phone numbers?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to get your phone list without going to the address book? On my 7520 you could merely start typing the name of the person and it would appear on the screen.

With the 7100i it seems that you have to go to the address book, look up the name and then click to dial the number. Very cumbersome.

The middle key on the 7100i is called the "convenience" key. It can be set to any option that you choose. Here's how to set it up.....

Go to Options on the BB 7100i (that's the wrench icon)
Select Screen/Keyboard
Scroll down to where it says Convenience Key Opens
Open that option, and it gives you a list of options from BB Messenger to what you two are looking for....address book.
Highlight and save, and you're in business! Hope this helps. Enjoy!

I wish that worked on my 7105t. The middle button is dedcated for the silly TZones thing which is the same as if accessing it from the applications icons. It would have been nice to have it programable.

This is even better for getting to the address book quick. Hold down the send button from the stand by screen and it takes you right to the address book. Save your middle button for something more important like toggling your Bluetooth off and on. (For the 7100i)
