I have to activate the speaker phone twice for it to work. This is not always the case, but the majority of the time. For example, I dial number then push track wheel or hit keypad short cut to activate speaker phone. The speakerphone icon appears on the screen, but the speaker phone is not working. Then I deactive the speaker phone and then activate it before the speaker phone begins working. Sometimes it works on the first try. For example, I brought it in to tmobile today to demonstrate the problem and the phone worked fine. Has this happened to anyone else?

This happens to me all the time... But I hardly ever use speakerphone now because people on the other end can't hear me unless I am holding the phone infront of me. The noise gate on the 7100t's microphone is practically non-existant so background noise is a huge issue. But I digress.... yes, this speakerphone issue happens to me as well.

Update to the latest handheld codes to resolve the speakerphone issue. I also do not use the speakerphone that often as I do not care for the quality. Too bad it's not as good as Nextel's.

I have the same back ground noise problem as well. I am on my THIRD 7100g (yes cingular). I think it makes no difference, because it's not related to the network.

For those of you who say that they have never experienced the problem, do this: Drive in your car at about 40MPH w/ the windows rolled up, radio off, and fan low. Call your home/office voicemail and don't say much. You will hear a TREMENDOUS amount of background noise! This is what everyone hears when they talk to you. I did something further. On the same stretch of road, I left myself another voicemail from my cheap (FREE), 2 year old Nokia phone on Cingular. Same driving conditions, and it was so quiet that my voicemail would hang up because it thinks I am done leaving a message. This occurs w/ or w/o the headset.

This is the WORST cell phone I've ever had as well, and I've had cell phones since the TRANSPORTABLE (cell phone in a suit case) cell phone days! If we all complain to RIM, perhaps somebody will do something about it. I can't believe this is their new flagship product.

Who said anything about this being thier flagship product? It's just one particular model in their line.
If you're unhappy with the voice quality... then try another Blackberry... maybe the 7290. If that still doesn't work for you, then don't use a Blackberry at all.

it sucks to have a thread with a title, and no subject... call me old fashion, but i think the first post in a thread is the most important. it lets you know WHAT THE THREAD IS ABOUT!

even if the thread is moot and has been answered, the post should remain so others can see the resolution...

they make add on scripts for forums to disallow the deletion of the original post/thread... this is the 4 thread i have opened that has had the majority or pertenant posts removed, rendering any suggestions and comments pointless.

blackberry hang up problem on start up it only hang when open t-mobile logo then stay on reading if any assistance please help

Why can I only hear people and people hear me, when on a call, if I have my headset in? Otherwise, there is no sound on either end... My Speaker Activation option is also missing...

Any suggestions on how to fix? Did I hit a button accidentally?
