Default 8830 WE BIS Email problems.

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I'm sorry I have to come to the forums just begging for help instead contributing. Everyone seems knowledgable about these phones though and I really need some help.

So a couple days ago, I purchased a second hand blackberry 8830 WE on the carrier Appalachian Wireless. The person who had it before me had a BIS email or personal email setup. When I purchased it I promptly added a data plan to the device. I could use the internet, the little globe with a packet on it, just fine. But, I couldn't add a new personal email account for some reason, it wouldn't connect when I tried to add one. After battling with this frustrating problem forever I decided to wipe my device. I got everything hooked back up but some apps have disappeared. MSN app, Email Settings, and the option to add my own personal email to the device.

I've went to the routing table and registered and received an SMS saying it was registered. And I have seen many people to say to go to my carrier's BIS website. But, they do not have a BIS website. Appalachian is unprepared it seems.

If you could help me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks alot.

That's what this forum is here for - to provide answers and help other BB-using folks.

That being said, you mentioned you got a data plan - did you get a BlackBerry data plan, or just a regular data plan? You need the BlackBerry data plan.

Pugspwn - I just went through the BIS registration process so I maybe able to assist. Unless your issue has already been resolved. Not sure what you meant by your last post. "Where it is a second hand blackberry an account already exists for it. Hmm."
