| 8700c Delivered Please Login to Remove! Fedex just dropped my 8700c. Really weird, this morning they said it was still in process.
On the phone now trying to get activated...new service.

| I don't have one yet, so I'm vicariously living through you all that got them. I'm a newbie to the Blackberry addiction but all of your obsession is infectious, especially for this new 8700.

| AH!
I am psyched for everyone that got theirs - BPerkins, yours looks hot!
Hopefully in a few weeks we can all get past this and talk about how we can make this device an absolute power house.
Regards,

| There is hope for those that ordered. I placed mine yesterday around 2pm EST and when I called back last evening and they said that it would not ship until Wednesday. No big deal, then I called this morning and the lady said that it would arrive today.
The SIM card was rejected because when I purchased service I was planning on porting over a number and they did not give me a temp. number. Just got up and running. As most have noted incredible screen, fast browsing, etc. The keys are not to small and I have adjusted fine. Only problem is finding the alt key since it has moved up a little bit. Lovely device.

| 8700c delivered @ 1:20 Hi Everyone,
I just received my 8700c @ 1:20 p.m. via FedEx. Warning sheet inside the box said to charge the device (battery) for 8 hours *before* calling in for activation.
Speaking of charging the battery--I recently purchased an official RIM external battery charger (RIM part # ASY-07042-002) for my 7100g. Does anyone know if this charger will work for the 8700c's battery which is different and labeled "C-S2"?
Thanks in advance...

| Got mine yesterday at 5:00 pm via UPS overnight. UPS comes much later in the day here than Fedex.
Love it. Everything is working great.
One thing I wanted to mention is that Cingular gave me two UPS tracking numbers - one for the SIM card and one for the handset. When the driver showed up, he had only one package and said that was it. Perhaps the other box would turn up on Friday.
When I opened the box, I found that the SIM card was already in the device. So apparently, they started out as two items and someone did a consolidation before actually giving it to UPS.
So, if you get two tracking numbers and one box - it will probably be the same issue.
Amazing thing is that both tracking numbers had all the detail about each stop along the way, including the "out for delivery" bit.

Euless, TX | Get it home, put it on the included charger and call Cingular from a landline. I ported from Nextel to the 8700 Cingular and it only took about 5 minutes on the phone and my Nextel number showed up on the 8700 and all works perfectly.
Yes your charger for your 7100 will work perfectly. Just charge you 8700 for a hours or two and do a full charge while you are sleeping. Compared to my Nextel 7520, the 8700 uses very little power.
Enjoy. | Offline
