| 7100i to 7100i Bluetooth Address Book Entry Exchange? Please Login to Remove! Let me preface by saying a did a few searches on this subject with different keywords. Forgive me if it's embedded within another topic.
My question:
Has anyone done a Bluetooth Address Book entry exchange? Example: I have a 7100i and I'm waking down the street and I see my friend with his/her 7100i, and I say hey do you have Mr. Smith's contact info? At that point the address book entry is exchanged via Bluetooth. Success with this anyone?
If I missed this topic in the search please point me to it. Even if it's out there this may be the place to get concise info to others as well, keep it all in the same place.
Thanks.

| I think it has been covered before, bluetooth on the BB is for headsets and select keyboards, because bluetooth would pose a risk if you just could send data to another BB.
I know on a Nextel phone you can just send a DC with the address book entry. | | Offline

I know on a Nextel phone you can just send a DC with the address book entry. | Yes, but we're talkin' about the 7100i with the 4.1 OS that has more than just the headset and hands free in the Bluetooth profile. So not just any BlackBerry in general europamo but specifically the 7100i.
And rrife I hear what you're saying but the question is has anyone attempted to do the contact exchange from 7100i to 7100i via Bluetooth. If there are threads specific to this please let me know, because I read little bits here and there but nothing that pertains directly to this.

INSTEAD OF BLUETOOTH YOU CAN PIN THEM AND ATTACH ADDRESSES... | I think what europamo meant is that you can send an address book entry via DC, which is true.
As for the PIN option. I already know what I can do. I'm lookin' for a definitive on the Bluetooth transfer. Thank you. | | Offline

facts: the blackberry user guide for the nextel 7100i states on page 21 that you can share address book entries with other paired bluetooth devices. you have the option of sharing your entire address book or your hotlist. "In the Bluetooth options, in the Address Book Transfer field, select one of the following options...." that's direct from the user guide gents.........cheers. | | Offline

I have had Nextel for years myself as well. As far as that feature I started using it on my i850. Not sure what othe ones can do it. I am sure its a newer feature on newer model iden phones. Funny thing is I stumbled onto the feature. I wish you could do it on the 7100i but it does not seem so. | | Offline

open up contacts, select contact, hit menu button, then you will see send contact, hit that then select a Nextel person you want to send it too, then it will prompt you to hit DC button.
Remember, im talking about a MOTO phone, not the BB.
to anyone else, any luck on the BT transfer? I dont have another BB to try it myself. | | Offline

It's right on the Nextel website, the Nextel phones that are capable of doing this are the i850, i870, i560, i860, i275, i760, i836, i335, and the i605
Direct Send
The new Sprint now provides industry-leading Nextel Walkie-Talkie services including the ability to push-to-send contact information from your contact list to other Nextel Direct Send enabled phones…instantly!
