Default How to turn off backlighting?

I was lucky enough to get my 8700c today. Only question I have: is there a way to manually turn off the backlight other than placing it back into the holster or waiting for it to automatically turn off?

Other than adjusting the time the backlight stays on (options->screen/keyboard) or having BBlight....the only option is turning it off manually besides putting it in the holster.

It seems that the "power" button on the top left edge cycles between backlight dim, backlight bright & off.

Is there anyway to keep the backlight on when powered? or do I need to install BBLight?
