Headset works fine with 7100 and sk65, however, when I connect to the 8700 there is so much interference noise that it is unuseable. Anyone else having this problem with a bluetooth headset?

Have not paired mine yet. Which BT headset are you using.

Nextlink's Bluespoon 5g. Looks like HF820 works without noise, which implies that there is an issue with the 5g and the 8700. I confirmed this by switching back to the 7100 and the headset worked perfecty, which really SUCKS considering the headset cost more than the 8700

Are you using the headset in a "controled" space? Meaning are you doing the exact same thing with both phones or are you testing them in different places. Sometimes microwave interference will make the headset up big-time.

I have only tested with the Flamingo and the BMW built in and both seem to be working well although I notice that if the phone is on the opposite side of the body from the Flamingo it gets some static. I will be testing it with Plantonics V510, M3000 and nXZEN over the weekend.

I am using my HS820 with my 8700C and I am not that happy. BT with 7290 was lot better. everytime I use BT it makes so much noise that some time it is hard to hear.
May be I will have to call RIM to see if they can tell me something different

You are correct. But definately not good when one of your retailers is advertising you have some quality control issues.

Using HS850 with 8700 and zero problems. Works better than Jabra 250
