Angry Follow-up to NYC BB8700/Cing launch event?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all -

Great forum! I have been waiting now a few weeks for any contact from a Cingular rep based on the NYC event I attended on 11/1. Just curious has anyone from NYC area been contacted and received a 8700c. If so is there a rep name that you can post as a courtesy to those of us that have NEVER heard anything.

I am asking because I'd like to know if this was just some kind of f*cked up hoax or something on Cingular's or RIM's part. To say we'd be contacted "soon" and then nothing... and to add insult to injury, the reps at Cingular B2B between not knowing any thing about the event, can be downright rude when you try to inquire on the promised devices that would be sent.

Again anyone with info please post. - Thanks

I suggest a letter to the CEO's of RIM and Cingular, asking them for visibility into the status of the promised devices. I think that if they continue in this manner the launch events will have caused more damage than benefit, with all the frustrated decision makers that attended.

Anybody agree?

Yea we were promised the devices for attending the event. I think we should give it until next week and then we should write a letter. I could have purchased one by now but may be holding out for nothing.

Default NYC Launch

Another unhappy NYC Launch attendee! Nothing, other than some begrudging general "confirmations" of stuff that has been in the trades for a week already, from our B2B rep, who also says he will not be the rep who will make the contact and has been evasive or unable to determine who or when I will be contacted. We have all read various reasons for the delay, but I'vde seen nothing that would explain the lack of communication as to what is going on. Its not as if Cingular couldn't send out an e-mail.

Guys -

As a follow-up, I've been tracking through a Cingular store manager info on the MIA devices and he put me in touch with someone from RIM. Evidently, RIM is fulfilling the vouchers not Cingular (although the cards would lead anyone capable of reading English to believe otherwise).

Furthermore the RIM rep I've been speaking to e-mailed me back that devices are being shipped today and Monday with expected delivery next week. My question to him though was to what address? The ones we registered with? No reply yet stay tuned.

P.S. - Just to let you all know I've been doing cursory checks at several Cingular locations and have been notified each stores have about 6-8 devices and they are only available to NEW activations (I am a current Cingular subscriber)
