Default Hosts file alike on RIM 7290?

Please Login to Remove!

I use the 7290 for a while, and like the capabilities.
But know I get into the TCP/IP networking capabilities, and there are some things which are (clearly) different if you're used to Windows OS........

So therefore a possible simple questions to this user group.
I need to reach a server on our network through a hostname (just the way the application allows users). The IP adress is reachable, but I need to request a https connection with hostname instead of IP address.
In Windows this is easily fixed with the hosts file in "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC"

Is there a way to make these kind of mappings on a Blackberry (7290)?
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

You would have to have a BES server that will resolve the name. I have an A record called 'intranet' that points to one of my servers at work, then use host headers under IIS to server to content to blackberry's.

Thanks for you comment.
Unfortunately we have a BES server that is controlled by our IT department. For testing purposes I would have liked a client side workaround (ie LMHOST, HOST).
