| Please Login to Remove! Thanks alot spin doctor, I'll give that a try, I think that I may have made it to big, so I will cut the length of the ringtone and reduce the qualtity so that hopefully it will work.
But thanks for the tip | | Offline

| Help, I'm using Audacity to do what you guys suggested, mono mp3 with IDv1 tag. It's only 20kB file and I upload it to my yahoo briefcase and when I save it to my phone it just makes a very faint pop and does not play the clip. Any ideas?

Any ideas? | I tried using a program to edit my mp3's and I also had trouble. Try using a program called MpTrim, the program basically takes ur mp3 and just cuts out parts of it, I used it to turn Golddigger-Kanye West into a ringtone and it works amazing, try to keep your mp3 ringtone file under 512 kb and you should be fine (make a Google search to find the program). I then uploaded it on to this website www.coolservice.dk and it worked great. Upload ur new mp3 ringtone file to this site and follow the instructions, once its uploaded it will give you a website to enter to your web browser on ur blackberry.
hope this helps
P.s. I never tried using MpTrim with a Gmail or Yahoo email address, but it should work just as well and you can go here to download some tones too http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mp3ringtones/files/ but u will have to join the group.

| I made a MP3 file that I'd like to add to my 8700 and if I understand correctly I need to download it from a website for it to work. I don't have a website now what do I do? I tried email it to my phone but it doesn't recognize the attachment. Thanks | | Offline

| Do a search here, some people have offered space on their servers to host them.

| This site has a ton of ringtones (most of them newer music).
It's just someones parent directory listing....hundreds though....
I haven't tried any of them on the bb yet.
I know it says nokia, but mp3's are mp3's. Some are too large but some are not.
Mostly just a bunch of rap but there's other stuff too.
Enjoy. http://inevitabletruth.org/nokia/ringtones/ | | Offline

| Just finished with this, extremely simple and basic. At the current time, .mp3/.wav/.mid is accepted with .adp to be allowed shortly. There are two links, the first you can upload and test to see if the ringtone will work on your phone or if it doesnt or it isnt what you want, you have the ability to delete it. The other link, you can upload the final version, which cant be deleted by people. You dont have to just upload, you can check whats avialable. Hopefully the list will grow. I plan on doing some more, I currently only have a few up there now.
To Test the Tune: http://www.bitnetmonkey.com/private/...mpleupload.php
The Final Product: http://www.bitnetmonkey.com/private/...mpleupload.php
Free of service, just trying to help out. This is my dedicated server, so there is no spam crap nor popups.

| Using your bb, go to the site, then click on whichever ringtone you want. It should start downloading and once its completed downloading, start playing. On the 7290 and 8700, using the option button (3rd symbol on the right of the screen when the ringtone is playing), click on it, you will have the option to save, click on the save option. Now its stored to your bb.

| New Yahoo Ringtone group Hey everyone,
I created the Yahoo group that will have ringtones on it. You will have to join the group in order to access any of the tones. the site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/8700ringtones
and there are about 15 or so ringtones on the site right now, feel free to add your ringtones or download any if you like them.
if you have any special requests for ringtones feel free to email me to ![[email address]](http://www.blackberryforums.com/?emailimage=d5c59cfb6c693a7d4ed9c5f281599dc1) and I will do what I can in order to make ringtones.
Enjoy,
