Default How to securely erase data from 7290?

Please Login to Remove!

I just upgraded to the 8700c from the 7290. I'm thinking of selling the 7290. I would like to know if there is a secure way for me to erase all the data on the 7290 so that the next user won't be able to access it.

Thanks for any help!

Yes there is, i seem to remember that you set a password first, unless you already have one set. Then intentionally type a wrong password 10 times. This will cause any information to be erased. For more detail do a search in this forum.

Or you can simply go to Options/Security and use the Wipe Handheld option from the menu.

Thanks. I did Options|Security and wiped the device. Think I'll sell it on eBay.

When you select wipe it states:

"warning all data will be lost! email service and other services will be disabled"

What does this mean, re email and other services?

It means that it erases the service books, your calendar, messages folders, etc. All customer data is lost. Gone. Don't do this unless you either really mean it, or you have a recent backup.
