Default Killer Unlimited BB Data Plan - Or Trouble?

Please Login to Remove!

I mentioned before that I have this odd $34.99 unlimited Blackberry data plan. I logged in today and under the usage section I get this:

Usage Type Included "Used" Remaining Overage
Internet & Downloads* 0.0KB 959.0KB 0.0KB 959.0KB
34.99 UNL BB F
*Data usage is measured in kilobytes and reflects an estimate of the usage since your last billing cycle.

For those of you with unlimited Blackberry plans with Cingular, do you get a similar 0K included and xxxxk overage readings?

C'mon everyone! I just logged in again and I am up to 3,158k in overages.

Shows 0k included, 3158k used, 0k remaining and 3158k in overages.

What does your data usage look like when you log in online?

mine looks like this, and I have never been charged for data usage:

Internet & Downloads*
First line:
Used 2693.0KB Remaining -

Second line:
Used - Remaining 2181.0KB

View details for data used
View my overall current usage

*Data usage is measured in kilobytes and reflects an estimate of the usage since your last billing cycle.
Summary reflects an estimate of data used as of 11/27/2005, 04:57 AM.
Next billing cycle starts 12/04/05.

Mine looks like this, but it does not have the "overages" section that you mentioned.

That being said, I am awaiting my first bill in fear, I'm up to almost 7mb of data in less than 1 week. We will see what "unlimited" really means...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I had a co-worker log into his Cingular account online today. He has the $44.99 unlimited "retail" Blackberry data plan. His shows up just line mine. 0k included xxxK used xxxK overage. He never pays more than the plan costs. I feel better now.

So are we correct in assuming that Cingular unlimited BB plan does not include internet access on device? I'm calling tomorrow for sure. I've been getting so many different answers that it's scary.

You are not alone.

The Cingular account of my data usage is all over the place. I have the unlimited international data plan, which includes web+email, but not SMS.

This happens all the time to me, and I've never had Cingular charge me for data overage. They get my billing wrong in other ways.

Today I got

-817KB remaining
0KB overage

which is typical of Cingular's very poor online account (OLA). They've screwed up my bill before, and each time they do, it's a huge waste of time. You should definitely not invest any time with 611, call the data or blackberry lines (do a search in this forum to find the latest numbers, the bastids change them sometimes).

If I didn't travel all over the world, I'd do a 7250 with EVDO and not have to deal with Cingular at all. However, they have a pretty sane international data plan, so I deal with their nightmare CS people.

You can call Cingular (but NOT 611) and the person on the other end will either fix it (10% chance), explain it to your satisfaction (20% chance), or be completely useless (you do the math).

I'd wait until my bill comes in, and see if there's really a problem.
