Unhappy OS upgrade problem

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry to start a second thread, but I don't think anyone has seen my previous one.
On my 8800 I've just updated the OS to 4.5.0.124 (it was 4.2 something), by downloading - not wirelessly -the new OS, and I now can't even enable Bluetooth ! The icon's on my screen but through the Options menu I get an empty screen, and through the Bluetooth Setup I just get the constant message "Enabling Bluetooth". I have to remove the battery to stop this message and get no further. It seems that the update has lost Bluetooth. If this is not a hardware problem, any ideas would be very gratefully tried.
Also, I used to get about a week's life out of the battery and since upgrading the OS even a new battery only lasts two days. Is this to be expected or can I do something to improve its life ? I've already followed the tips in the Help menu.

Regards.

Moved to the 8800 section.

First off, it is hard to respond to the battery life question without knowing how much you use the device and what sort of use it is - voice, data, etc. On the surface two days is great. My 8800 would get about a day and half if I pushed it. Can't see that as a problem.

As to the bluetooth issue. Have you tried a battery pull on the BB since you did the upgrade?

AS I said, I used to get a week's life on my average (non-business) usage but now, even with next to no usage _ i.e. with wireless on and the BB standing by - I only get two days. A considerable difference !
A "battery pull" = take the battery out ? I've tried that several times to clear the "Enabling Bluetooth" screen on Bluetooth Setup.
Thanks for the response.
