Default How 2 import JPG (images)?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm brand new to Blackberry - loving my 8700c - but racking me brain trying to import jpg images. What is the procedure and to I need a 3'rd party app?

Also, how does one find kool apps other than the ones that came with the phone?

Thanx

Do you mean import .jpg images to use wallpapers? If so you have to use your browser. Use a program like Adobe Photoshop to resize the images you want to use then upload those images to the web. Once that is complete point your browser to that site or email the link to yourself then click the trackwheel and save the image. There are many applications available at www.handago.com many of them have free trials. Also check out the 3rd party app forum here. You'll find lots of info there on the apps available.

Default Hope I didn't fry it!

Thank you Nitty, on "Code Cannon"s suggestion I downloaded a trial version of GTPhoto by Green Tech. At first it crashed & seemed to fry my brand new 8700c! I had to yank the battery out to restart. I tried the app again & it seemed to work - it inserted a nice image. Hope my new phone is ok tho.

So are u saying that if i upload a picture to a website like Shutterfly, I then go to that site on my phone, aim the screen on the image, then click the wheel? (seems kinda weird compared to my ancient SonyEricsson P800 which let me upload hundreds (!) of jpgs on sim cards and dozens of videos.)

I realize the 8700's appeal is for push email & fast web so I will reserve judgement on it until I try more stuff.

Thanks again, I am grateful for your suggestions.

I do it all the time. I sent a solid black jpeg, also to use as background for my home page. works great and makes the icons really stand out and is easy on the eyes when in the dark.

Email the image to yourself, open to view and then save the image. You can then see it when you select "pictures" and assign it as wallpaper.

this procedure did not work on my gmail email, but did work perfectly from my ISP email account.
