Default 8830 Sprint BBM Issue

Greetings all,

I recently received a replacement BlackBerry 8830 from Sprint because my USB adaptor worked. However, I am having trouble with my BlackBerry Messenger. At first, when someone tried to add me they were being sent back that I declined them. I called Sprint and we reset the phone and that fixed the issue for the time being.

Now the same issue is still occurring along with something else. When the phone is set in the "Normal" Mode for ringers, when I receive a BBM it does not ring or vibrate, it's silent. I checked the settings and the a ringer is selected and it is set to medium on the ringer. Also, when set on "Loud" the BBM's ring but on the wrong tone. Does anyone know what this could be or has anyone had this issue before? Thanks!!!

So BBM is working, but the notifications are not working, correct?

Do you have any exception profiles on the device?

Yes, that's a better way to put it. What do you mean by exceptions?
