My blackberry 8700c arrives tuesday..

I want my blackberry to work as a modem... gonna test this when I get it..

I want a leather case for my blackberry... there doesn't seem to be one out yet but soon hopefully..

I want to remove any security policy which might have been applied to my 7290 from my corporate BES so that I can sell it on eBay...

i want my verichat, CEWL, berry411, bblight, dopewars etc etc to work but have heard that the current versions are not compatible with the 8700 (different jdk versions?)

so as of now - i am constantly checking my fedex tracking and also my ebay sale

I can't speak to many of those applications but you don't need bblight with the 8700. Removing the security policies can be a real challenge. You need a new default policy.bin file and then you need to put it in the default path.
