Default Gmail and the 8700

Please Login to Remove!

Ok I finally switched to forwarding, because the POP would never work, my only question is ---> If I could get the POP working would the Gmail mail messages be threaded (conversation view) when I log on using a computer, or does it just stay as a new messages as it does with forwarding?

Thanks,
Jbsooner

Default POP3 and Gmail

I currently have mail forwarding from Gmail to my Blackberry, but I've used Gmail POP3 with a desktop client and a Pocket PC. The mail comes in the same way as other mail does for that particular mail client...so for a Blackberry I would expect it would come in as separate messages. The only place I think it will appear threaded is within the Gmail web client itself.

That is what I am talking about, when you use forwarding the messages are not threaded in the Gmail web client, when you send repy's back and forth from the BB.

Sorry I misunderstood. Good point...I'm not sure.

I think it just renders Gmail useless if you can't go from BB to webclient and not see it in threaded view. When I was using my treo 650 it would work like that, but not with the BB. I tried to get POP working, but I would never receive my messages. I though maybe with POP it would thread the messages. Just thought someone would know.

On another note, I have the unlimited BB plan, does that include websurfing too?

I think there are other threads that discuss the unlimited BB plan but I was told that it included unlimited wesurfing. I use the web browser to check gmail and that works fine for me.
