Question Help! Need To Retrieve Accidentally Deleted Email!

Please Login to Remove!

I am a newbie & have a BB 7105t. Is there a way to retrieve/restore emails after accidentally being deleted from the handheld? I am a private individual user so am not part of a BES. When an email is deleted, is it stored in a deleted item folder on the handheld? I tried "view folder" and can't see that type of folder at all. I think I might have hit the delete from mailbox&handheld option by mistake, because the email's not available on my mail server either. So am I basically screwed at this point??

Sorry to say but yes you are. That is why it is recommend that you only have handheld delete turned on for just that reason. Even if you had BES you would need to do a restore from a backup to get it.

Do you remember who it was from? Ask them to resend it to you.

If he was on a BES, I think he could have just used the "Recoved Deleted Items" feature (from within Outlook). No need for backups!

How do you turn on just the "handheld" delete option only? When you hit the delete option, it always gives you both the "mailbox and handheld" and "handheld" options, and I don't see a way to change that.

Also, if the handheld does not store the deleted items anywhere, why does BB even bother to place a "purge deleted items" option?? I really liked my BB until this happened, and I think it sucks that RIM didn't think to help protect its business users with such a simple solution!!

RIM did think of this. Read the manual. Messages/Options/General Options/Confirm Delete/YES.

Messages/Options/Email Reconciliation/Delete On. I find it odd that you found "purge deleted items" but did not find where to delete on "handheld only". Email reconciliation is the only place I could find "purge deleted items". Oh well.

Won't it be in the deleted items folder on the BWC?
