Default 8700 and RIM OEM Holster

Went into a local BB Store and tried the 8700C with a new 7200 style leather holster with swivel belt clip. Even though it is a few cm smaller, it is pretty snug considering the leather has not stretched much.

Those looking for a temp solution, check it out. It works pretty well and will not fall out when turned upside down.

it's nice!, considering that it sells on ebay for 9.95 and it's originally for the 7290 and the magnet is located in a position where it wont work with the 8700

Not sure what you mean. This is not for the 7290, the picture shows the 8700 in it. These guys replied and said this magnet is positioned for the 8700

Yes it does show the 8700, notice that the fit is loose on the sides, plus the magnet is positioned on the upper part of the case, the same that is used to close the cover. The magnet works perfectly there on the 7290 but not on the 8700. Plus like i said...40.00? , it's on ebay for 9.99

They have a different one for the 7290. The said if I buy this case it will not work with the 7290, because the magnet is further to the right to accommodate the 8700. The magnet on the upper part of the case is for the magnetic flap.. I own the same case for the 7100.

In regards to the 9.95. I've purchased the $10 7100 cases just like this one on eBay, it was not real leather, it was PVC, I know my leathers. You get what you pay for.

and the 8700 case works. I have one. It sleeps just fine. The 7200/7500 series do not sleep with the 8700 holster.

the magnet should be at the lower part of the case, i just dont want anyone to get ripped off. I purchase that one for 10.00 on ebay for the 7290, it's an exact copy of the one in the picture, and yes, it's leather. Plus like i said, notice the fit, it looks like my 8700 when i use that cover. Also like I said, I did not know there was a blue 8700

I don't think there is any way to tell where the magnet is on this case by looking at the picture.. It is a magnet internal to the case. The magnet near the top is for something different (the magnetic flap)

The $10 cases seem like leather, but they are not, they are a high grade PVC with a leather spray applied. My Ex's dad used to own a leather factory in Toronto and I took interest in learning about it.

I agree with you about making sure no one gets ripped off... I am pretty comfy with this seller, I am going to buy it, and if all goes well I will have my 8700r next week. I will update you guys and let you know if it works.
