Thumbs up 8700c Prices

Please Login to Remove!

I'm changing jobs and will be w/o a BB for a few months - instead of doing what a normal person would and going w/o one I'm going to buy an 8700c. I already am a Cingular customer but don't have a contract on my line so I am eligible for all new customer incentives. So far the best price I can find is $300 - have any of you found any better deals? If so where? Or should I just fork over the $300 for it?

I wasn't able to get anything better with my corporate discount, but you do have the $50 rebate and free BT available to you.

Default $300 is it

I was told by Cingular that its not going any lower for a while. I'm sure it will drop once Cingular doesn't have the device exclusively and there's competition.

Amazon cites a 15 day trial period for Cingular Blackberries, not Cingular's currentr 30 day trial period. Does anyone know if this is just an outdated contract that Amazon is displaying and if the trial period is actually now 30 days. Any problems buying Blackberries through Amazon?
Thanks.

One of my friends got it for $249.99 from Business Sales. I think that's the negotiated rate for his firm so it might depend on your firm.

I also have a friend who works as a cingular affiliate in chinatown. Most people don't understand that when place like Amazon offer the device for $150 AR, they are actually losing money on the device. However cingular pays them like $400+ (depends on plan) in commission for new customers so they are willing to lose a few bucks to get the business. Anyways, my point is that my friend who works at an affiliate told me that the invoice price for these devices from Cingular is $200, so if you're lucky, you could score one for that much or a little higher.

I am not sure about the "Already have a contract" problem. Maybe it is different becuase I am a "business customer" but the question never even came up while I ordered my replacement 7290 last month or 8700 last week.

I was a ATT customer for about 1 year and then bought my first BB in July. So I had only had my 7290 for 4 months when I bought the replacement.
