Default Voicemail notification won't turn off!!!

Please Login to Remove!

And another thing.....you know how you hold down the '1' key to get to voicemail....that's a no go on my 8700. It says "Invalid Phone Number". When I go to voicemail under phone, options....the number is there....

And to top it all off....the damn voicemail icon notifier will not go away!!! I even pulled the battery.

Anyone else having this issue?

Default VM Issues

Generally on the notification if it won't go away it needs to be reset. For the speeddial just input it yourself in a speedial you like - maybe V instead of 1. I lost my 1 for VM like you suggest when I did an OS upgrade on my 7100.

What do you mean by 'reset'? I already yanked the battery with no results.

Thanks in advance.

Often that's a network issue. You should call Cingular 611 and they can reset your VM on their end. This will resolve the notification issue. As far as the VM goes I'd also check w/ them. If I set my own number as #1 I DON'T get VM, oddly enough. I have a specific number programed (must come from my SIM) that takes me to VM. It's not even my area code.

Hope this helps...

Default Yes reset means at Cingular

Happens every so often, but much less often now. Yes you must program that specific VM number and not your own BB #.

I'm on the line with them now....they are reseting my vm. Still strange about the old 'hold down 1 to get to vm' just doesn't work with 4.1.

The number is programmed under phone options in voicemail, but oh well.

I just made a key for it....

Thanks for all your help.

Mine would not go off last night, either. I had just been having network issues, though. I had a lot of SOS and then just GSM, so I was attributing it to that.

My voicemail indicator was gone this morning when I woke up.
