Default WAP Experiment

Not to post another amateur review, but I must say I am very impressed with the EDGE service. I spend allot of time online, but always found WAP browsing on my 7100 or any other phone/pda more of a pain in the ass and frustrating than helpful.

Over the weekend with a relative in town, I had the job of playing tour guide and found myself with a great deal of downtime seeing things I see every time someone comes to California. I used these moments to experiment with the EDGE browsing. I replied to 4 BBF PM's from the middle of Muir Woods National Park, Browsed the forums from the basement of Alcatraz, and avoided getting caught in hours of traffic when a big rig closed Interstate 80 in both directions on Monday (googled a map of Panole got off the freeway, went through neighborhoods and was free and clear in 10 minutes) - I would never have even thought about using the web on my 7100.

Anyway, the 8700 has exceeded my expectations in every way.

So with my new fascination with WAP, I created a small portal page for myself, if anyone wants to submit links they have found helpful I would appreciate it.

If you liked the WAP browser, you may like the full html browser even more. Now that it should be on everyone's device we aren't limited by WAP only sites. So now we all could take advantage of full blown sites that don't have WAP formatted (small screen) versions of their site.

Nice little portal site. I tried to check traffic in San Diego, I think the link is broken.
