Default Space bar in the browser

I pulled up Google in the 7100t Web browser the other day and was met with a distressing problem. There seemed to be no way to type a space into the search field! Every time I hit the space button, instead of typing a space, the window would scroll down to the bottom. I tried every combination of the shift and alt buttons, but couldn't find any way to reproduce a space. Finally I typed my query into a blank note in the Notepad and cut-and-pasted it into the Browser. What a pain! Does anyone know of an alternative?

I've encountered this as well, and sadly I don't have a solution. It doesn't seem to happen to me every time though. I think it depends on how SureType detected things. Sometimes you can backspace up to the last word you typed, type another letter, remove that letter, then hit space and it will work correctly. It's a workaround, but it's the best I can do for now. Anybody else have ideas about this?

I have a 7290 with v4.0 of the handheld OS (Hong Kong version) and it allows for spaces in the search field on Google.
Maybe try and find an OS update?

I've recently noticed the same issue, but have found that typing in the words separate by commas seems to work for now. I haven't updated the OS on mine (still at V3.8.0.112) so I don't know if the new OS will solve this issue.

The workaround for me is this:

hold down * key to turn off SureType. Then when you press the space bar, it works fine.
