Default Can't keep Bluetooth connection with Acura RL

Please Login to Remove!

I have an Acura RL. I successfully paired my 8700 with it. The connection establishes itself and then seconds later loses it and then reestablishes itself and then seconds later loses it on a continuing basis.

Any one else having this problem with a Bluetooth connection? Any ideas what's causing the problem? Could my 8700 be defective and in need of replacement?

I have 2005 Acura MDX and Bluetooth is a bit kludgey. It seemed to be working OK with my 7290.

Now it seems to not recognize a call until the call is connected for about 3-4 seconds. It used to connect as soon as the phone rang (on an outgoing call). Now, it says "there is no call in progress, main menu" whenever I say "transfer" sooner than the call actually connects.

I'll be at the Acura dealer in a week so for an Inspection, Oil Change and OnStar software upgrade and will inquire...

Same kinds of probelms with my LandRover LR3. It'll connect, then disconnect.

Aha! So there is a bug. Another one to add to the firmware upgrade list.

The MDX uses the same bluetooth unit as the RL and the TL (made by Johnson Controls). There were some updates for the 2005 RL's XM, nav. traffic and powetrain module. It might be worth it to let your dealer install these updates if you do not have them.

Default 2006 RL & 8700c

I have the 8700c and can't get it to connect via the data link to the acura site. The phone part seems to work fine, but when I try to "test" the data connection it just drops the bluetooth connection. Any thoughts?

My 8700c and 2005 TL play VERY nice together. Never a problem after 9 months with the 8700. Does everything it's supposed to.

I take it you've already turned off the Bluetooth on the device, and tried again?
