you know what's odd about that... I 'registered' on the www.cingular.com/blackberr8700c website weeks ago to get 'updates' on the release on the 8700. I never received one email. Thanks to this forum I called 611 and ordered an 8700 last week but I wonder why we (at least me) were never emailed about the release.

Thanks to this post, I looked on Cingular.com, and then as if I were in a trance, I picked up my 7280, dialed NBO, and ordered the 8700...should be here by friday.

Does anyone know if I can purchase one at their price as my Razor is only 9 months old? I want to keep the same number but am willing to order another line for my wife but want to have the new number on the Razor and my old number on the BB. Is that possible? Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks

Just swap SIMs and make sure you order the BlackBerry service for the current number.

Reason for no email?? Cingular screwed the roll out up plain and simple.

I currently use my 8700 most of the time and use my black razor on the weekends if I want something smaller... just swap my sim card between devices. works great.

That reminds me of my experience with T-Mobile and the HP 6515. There was all this hype about it and you could sign up on T-Mobile's website to "be notified so you could be the first to purchase it." Never got one email from them and I found out from a message board that it was released and in stores.

The 8700 are getting out as I visited my local Cingular store and they had one on display and 3 in the box to sell.
