$500+ for a leather box? I can not see this turning into a collectors item.

With all due respect to everyone that has bought one, received one from the launch or is contemplating getting one, ARE YOU ALL NUTS? Its just a phone. $800.00? WOW, I guess I am missing the point here.

Sorry that will run you an additional $300, my understanding is that Cingular charges for all options. Sorry guys I could not resist after being at the butt end of all the Verizon jokes.

My dad used to say that when I wanted Reebok tennis shoes. He'd look at the price and say, "Damn! For $70 that better come with a B*!"

I was eleven.

Yep, yep, yep. That's what we were thinking. Lap times.

I can't begin to imagine paying that much for the BB plus case. Especially since we all know he got it FREE.

*We* all know it, but not the general populace. Regular auctions, such as hosted by eBay, are designed for the seller's benefit; any item gets sold to the one person in the world who is willing to pay the absolute hightest price for it.

Is this one from the launch? That means you can't get it unlocked so if you want one locked to Cingular then a contract will bring the price WAY down???

Yeah it's from the launch.

Why wouldn't you be able to get it unlocked?

Cingular does not have the unlock codes for these for some reason.
