Angry Cingular Delivery "Issues"

Please Login to Remove!

I ordered my 8700 last Thursday and paid and extra $14.95 for next day delivery. Next day came...no Bberry. Saturday...no Bberry. I called, they said for some reason it did not ship and they would send a "note" to someone to ship it and it will be here Monday.

Monday is here and I still haven't seen it. I called them, it still hasn't shipped and they don't know why. They are supposed to call me back by Thursday. IMHO, this is super crappy service. I think the government could do better.

Anyone else have a similar problem?

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

If it makes you feel any better as a corporate user we ordered 10 units, we got 5 and were told there was no eta on the remaining. Mind you myself and one other co worker went to the roll out here in chicago and the work blackberries arrived a week before our freebie ones did

Sorry to hear that. I called Cingular customer service and placed my order around 6 pm Sat night. I checked online and the unit has already shipped and is en-route. I didn't go for next day delivery, and just kept the free 2-day shipping via FedEx.

I hope you get your $14.95 back.

Hate to tell you but when mine had that status, they determined the order was lost or never completed correctly and had to enter a whole new one, which I received in 2 days. Even then, it showed back-ordered until about 9:30 PM when it was showing shipped with a tracking number.

Have you looked up status on Cingular? It should be there if there is an order.

Not that I am complaining, but I had similar issues. First the begining of November, I ordered my replace 7290 to make it until the end of the month. I orderd was told it would be $299, didn't really care, because I knew I would trade it in and pay the difference. The next day I called back, they couldn't find the order. I called again that night, still couldn't find the order, so they "Cancelled" the partially done order based on the order # I had.

Next, she says " I see you got the other one for $159 with corporate discount?, do you want the same deal?" I replied, no I didn't get that deal, I was told my corporate discount wasn't good for this. So I get a second ordered for $159.

The next morning the "cancelled" one shows up at my door with an invoice for $299 and the next day the second one showed up with an invoice of $159.

I then call and arrange to return the first one, took 2 calls to finally get the return label.

I then order my 8700, Tuesday before T-day. I spent about 45 minutes on the phone and then they callled me back and spent another 30 minutes on the phone for 2 more calls before I was given an order number for the 8700 and return for my 7290. I went with slow delivery as I was out of town. On Friday I checked the order status, nothing. On Saturday checked again, nothing.

So I called again and was told the order was "not complete" they needed to know how to pay for it, if I just wanted them to add it to my bill? She completed the order and it showed up Weds w/o the return label for the 7290. I am still waiting for the return label :(

I honestly think these sales people are just temps hired for the holiday rush, even though I am a corporate account client.

The sales people in the stores are not much better.

I decided to test an 8700 in person after following everyone's experiences the last couple of weeks. I went to the Cingular store closest to me which also happens to be one of their largest here in Atlanta (or at least that's what they said). I called in advance and was told that they had one demo unit in house and that they had several coming in later today.

When I went to the store and talked to the only available sales person he told me that the 8700 was "the best there is." He then took me over to the 7290. When I pointed out that wasn't the 8700, he said, "oh yeah, the 8700 has the camera on the back of it."

Anyway, it went on like that for 30 minutes before they finally found the demo unit somewhere in the back. They knew nothing about the device. When I asked about price, one of the salespeople said $150. (I should have given them my credit card right there). Five of them had to look online before they could finally come up with the $299 for a two year commitment price.

In sum, they had no clue what was going on with one of their most popular devices. Don't know that its much different with other providers though.

It may be popular here, but these people just sale "phones" and are not use to dealing with the typical business customer. As BBs become more common in the consumer world they may become more knowlegdable, but right now they are selling phones with cameras and mp3 players.....
