I use a prepaid blackberry connection on my 8830 and whenever there is an SMS, call, etc. a popup notification will appear with a loud beep showing the last call amount and balance left in my prepaid account. I understand it is an operator dependant feature and cannot be disabled. However is there any way to disable the load beep sound? I have checked the profiles and even when using Silent profile the sound is produced. I cross checked that all the sound profiles were set to None including Level 1 message. Please help me in finding out where to disable the sound for that notification.

No, its a carrier thing that they MAY be able to disable.
i.e. they may be able to stop it, but there isnt an option for you to stop it on your BB.
call them, it cant do any harm to ask if they can stop it.

The only way I have been able to get rid of that annoying sound is to set my profile to Quiet and Important calls checked. I have everyone I want to answer calls from at that time listed under important calls. I have AT&T. I still get the popup messages but no noise.

The operator won't be able to disable the notification for my number alone, so that is not a possibility.

@dorojm: Do you use a BB 8830 as well? Which firmware version are you using? I am getting the sound notification in Quiet/Silent mode also and thats what I am worried about as I don't mind the popup notification but the sound is annoying
