I emailed the document to Tom (forum owner) to post here. The version he has has the picture embedded and the spacing of the sections is better. This one had to be made smaller and the photo is separate to meet forum file size limits.

Default Tips question

This is a great document, I appreciate you putting it together. I do have one question. I programmed my voice mail at work and I put in a wait and pause but when I dial the number how do I activate the wait. For example

714 5551212w6092#p242424p3

When it dials the number It doesnt start dialing the rest. I assume I have to push a key or something but cant figure out which one. Thanks.

Default Push the enter key

Should show up on your screen as waiting.

Default Show up as waiting

When I clicked on the speed dial, it dialed and i looked on the screen and it doesnt show waiting. I pushed the enter button and nothing. This is the way it is setup

7145551212w6092#p242424#3

Is this correct? Why do you think the "waiting" is not showing up?

you don't just have a normal 'w' in there for the wait right? it should be a w with a black square around it. so if you edit the number on your blackberry and are in that field you can click the trackwheel and select add wait then you'll get the special w. Same thing for the 'p' for pause.

If you are editing this in your outlook contact then you won't see the special looking 'p' and 'w'. For pause just use a comma and for wait use an ! mark.

Default P and W

Yes, I have the small case bold p and w in the number. When I click the speed dial 5, it connects but then there is no prompt to go forward or get off the wait. Once you dial and you get to the voicemail is there some button that you push or click to move forward off the wait? That is how it normally worked on my other cell phone.

I really want to get this working as I call my voice mail all the time.

Thanks for your help.

Select the phone icon, then in the blank row click the track wheel and select options then select voice mail from the list and you will see access number followed by the VM number and then a line titled additional numbers. I enter a single lower case p followed by the password digits and this dials my voice mail, pauses and then send the password and I am good to go.

Default Speed Dial

How come there isn't a shortcut to access speed dial list. That's the one issue that bothers me. I like to pres 1 key to view the list. Do you think they will change this?

Default For the Cingular voicemail

You don't need the p, but for an office one you need the p or w. For those that can't get it working, can you post exactly what you entered. The best place to do this is in the address book field for the phone number. You should see a p or w surrounded by a small black box.

Default 8700 Tips Document

Great document. Any chance that it can be posted in Word format so that we can cut and paste it into a memo on the BB?
