Default AT&T 8700c has arrow over signal bars and won't let me scroll.

Please Login to Remove!

An arrow keeps coming up over my signal bars and it will not let me scroll over and I cannot click on anything with the trachwheel. If I do click all that comes up is move icon, hide icon, show all, and switch application. I have to pull the battery out and reset for it to go away. But it keeps coming back. How do I get this sto stop? Does anyone know? Thanks.

The arrows you see there are indications of data activity coming and going from the device.
