I heard from a friend that when he called TMobile the person said that the 4.0 firmware for the 7100t should be available at the end of the month. Can anyone confirm?
My T-Mobile source is excellent and has never supplied me with incorrect information. He also supplies me with lots of early or beta code. He has nothing for the 7100t.
I'd like to know how they got ahold of that, since I just talked to RIM about an hour ago and according to their developers 4.0 for 7100 is barely working on their devices... I can't see that they would have released it to anyone else yet.
I have a 7100t, but my company is testing out the BES 4.0 now, so I've got to use a device that I can run 4.0 firmware on.
So as far as I can tell, every single person has heard something different about the firmware release for the 7100t. All I can say is that we called TMobile and they told us at the end of the month. I think they are confused with the other models since AT&T/Cingular has released 4.0 for everything but the 7290, they probably need to get it out as well.
As my company was lucky enough to be in the beta program, I hope it's true that they will release it in two week or so.
is that .185 the carrier branding for your 7290 or directly from RIM? I wasn't aware they had released .185 for the 7290 yet, only the 62xx and 72xx series...
Semantically, the 7290 is part of the 7200 series. Yet it is different because it runs OS 3.8 - and the others do not - and is different because 4.0 code is nowhere to be found for it.
